Indian
Summer Fall 2006
Big Collar
Coat

Big Collar Coat: Brown Melton with abalone shell button. Our
trademark ‘Indian Summer’ stencil embroidery on
right lower arm. Side pockets and lined with a variation of
bright satin lining.
Inspiration: This coat was inspired by the feeling I get when
I’m wrapped in a wool blanket but this one fits to perfection
with a tapered waist and above the knee length. It comes in
small, medium, and large. This fall, we will have a similar
version of this coat in size extra large. The matching skirt
fits loosely on the hips with a zippered back and darts both
front and back for a tapered fit. An embroidered “Indian
Summer’ with two thunderbirds sits on the lower back of
skirt.
Big Collar
Coat

Big Collar Coat: Yellow melton with abalone shell button. Our
trademark ‘Indian Summer’ stencil embroidery on
right lower arm in tone on tone. Side pockets and lined with
a variation of bright satin lining. This coat also has a Sunhawk
design by John Brillon embroidered on the back left shoulder
for extra detail.
Blanket Vest and Skirt (long-feather pattern)

Indian Summer long blanket skirt and vest. Special detailing
with shell button closure and imitation sinew with dentalia
shell and Czech glass beads. Indian Summer blue crop tee with
brown serge. Sizes small, medium, large. Feather pattern is
subject to availability. Inspiration: My feelings were to create
something different out of the beautiful Kanata blankets because
it would be a challenge and I felt my ancestors would have found
a way to make a remnant piece of blanket look beautiful as clothing.
I love the way the long blanket skirt feels when it is on especially
on a cold day.
Blanket Vest and Skirt (short-arrowhead
pattern)

Indian Summer Arrowhead Brown design blanket mini-skirt and
capped sleeve blanket bolero vest with large black button closure.
Big buckle belt with brown melton worn as accessory. (Big buckle
belt in limited quantity.)
Blanket
Vest and Skirt (Short Kanatan Geese pattern)

Indian Summer Blue Kanatan Geese design blanket mini-skirt and
capped sleeve blanket bolero vest. Fall 2006 vest comes with
a large black button closure and longer skirt length, approximately
2 inches above the knee, is available. Lined with zipper back.
Pattern varies on each skirt and vest.
High Land Kilt

High waisted kilt skirt in assorted plaid materials. Side zipper
and adjustable side belts and silver large pin. Labeled with
2 Headed Thunderbird embroidery on back waist-band. Available
in small, medium, large. Accessorized with pony hair-clips attached
to skirt on large pin. Worn with Artifaax Riel and Eagle design
_ sleeve tee with black flock design and crystals. Inspiration:
I love the Scottish culture and find their honour and clan systems
very similar to ours in North America.
Regalia Dress

Regalia Dress in wine velour with our trademark embroidery in
tone on tone. The ‘Indian Summer’ stencil embroidery
sits on the right lower arm and Sunhawk embroidery design is
on the left side embedded in side seam. This is another trademark
exclusive to our collection. This dress has a mock neck and
raglan sleeve. There are side slits which give this dress a
distinctive and elegant look. Inspiration: I think everyone
needs a dress that is classic and cut with shape. This dress
seems understated but when people notice the embroidery in unusual
places they are quite intrigued. It also is a perfect dress
to wear with my regalia jewelry. This dress is very accommodating!
It will be available in velvet silks for evening wear and with
eagle and raven embroidered designs by special order only. The
Regalia Jewelry is also available by special order.
Pow Wow Jacket

Indian Summer Black Melton Pow Wow jacket with hand sewn dentalia
beads (design is 2 Roads) sewn by Haven Couture on the back.
Shown with a Riel white ribbon blouse and green velvet ribbon
and a blue/black plaid rolled hip short. All of this is tied
together with a green satin sash embroidered with John Brillon
Sunhawk design in tone on tone. This sash is sold separately
in different colours. My inspiration comes from my love of what
Riel tried to do for all of Kanata/Canada. I believe he was
trying to bring us all together as a people… as a country.
I imagine how our clothing may have looked …a little of
this a little of that … a French blouse with a Scottish
plaid short and a jacket adorned with shells that is reminiscent
of the pow wow and of course a bright beautiful sash in many
different colours for all of us with different nationalities
and First Nations’ blood. Truly Kanadian! I always have
the sash tied in the center or to the left as a sign of peace.
Pow Wow
Jacket

Indian Summer Red Pow Wow Jacket with hand sewn shells on the
back sewn by Haven Couture and a big shell button. Also worn
with a pink striped Riel Ribbon Blouse and a brown plaid hip
boxer short with velvet trim and French cuff. A pink satin sash
with a John Brillon Sunhawk design ties it all together.
